Young Martin is unhappy when his parents send him off to a ‘tree hugging’ summer camp for three weeks and is determined to do everything he can not to fit in. But as he spends time alone in the forest, he becomes aware of the beauty of the natural world and senses that magic may even reside there. As the water sources throughout the area begin to dry up, Martin believes that nearby excavation works could be responsible and reaches out to his fellow camp members to help him make a difference. This exciting Czech film is an upbeat tale with an environmental twist. Particularly charming – and memorable – are the woodland creatures, crafted with lo-fi special effects.
